Marian Keyes at her very best. A book about a woman, 'Amy' who has a brief marriage to a footballer and they have a child. This marriage doesn't last but Hugh comes in to Amy's life and together they get married, have their own daughter. And also make their home to two other children not related to Hugh and bring them in to their family. The story revolves around Amy and how her career takes her to many interesting places. Amy meets a man who catches her eye and suddenly she feels like she is getting attention she isn't getting from Hugh. She doesn't do anything about her feelings but they are very much there.
Then out of the blue Hugh decides he wants to take 6 months out of their marriage. To find himself. Amy is devasted. The days to come bring laughter and tears. Amy demonstrates how life within marriage can get so automatic she wanted to bring some excitement back and feel young and wanted once again.
Brilliant book, feel good read and really makes you feel like you're living within the book itself.
